Our policy on Nutrition

For children 12 months and older, all meals are provided by the center.  A morning and afternoon snack is served in addition to a nutritionally balanced lunch.  Menus are always posted in the center at the beginning of each week. We provide a full breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.  We receive benefits from a USDA sponsored food program.

Children under 15 months old should have a written feeding schedule developed by the parent or medical doctor.  This schedule should be modified as the baby grows and develops.  All bottles and sippy cups must be prepared by the parent, caped and labeled on the bottle and the cap for sanitation reasons.  Glass bottles should not be used.  All babies who are breastfeed need to inform the teachers so that we can make arrangements for their bottles.  Our facility is a peanut free facility.

Environment

Our staff is certified in germ busters training which helps ensure your child will be in a safe and healthy environment.  Our classrooms are sanitized on a daily basis. All toys, furniture, floors and carpets are properly cleaned on a daily basis several times a day.  Our linens and sheets are also washed on a daily basis.  The floors and carpets are sanitized and disinfected by professionals weekly.  Our center has monthly cleanup night (after hours) where in depth cleaning is performed.  We take all measures to ensure our environment is clean and sanitized for all of our children.

Our policy on Indoor Play

Creative Kidz Academy strives to provide a loving and caring environment structured around each child’s individual needs.

We strive to provide your child/ren with age appropriate, educational toys.  All age groups will be exposed to the following centers: blocks, manipulatives, language, dramatic play, science, reading and sand and water.  All classrooms are set up to make sure your child grows and develops in a healthy manner.

Our policy on Outdoor Play

Each class will have scheduled outdoor play everyday, weather permitting.  All age groups have their own playgrounds and age appropriate outdoor toys.  All children must go outside with their class.  During cold weather children should have coats, hats and gloves for their comfort.  During the changing seasons children may change into more suitable clothing as the afternoons get warmer.  Please make sure that your child’s clothing and shoes are comfortable for outdoor play or scheduled fieldtrips.  We are not able to accommodate any request to keep a child indoors during outdoor time.

Our policy on Transportation

When children are transported away from the school for field trips or other planned outings, the following procedures are followed by school personnel. These procedures will also apply for before and after school delivery and pickup:

  • Only children in the public school system can be transported on the school van.
  • Any child under age 8 and/or 80 pounds must ride in a booster seat/weight appropriate restraint on the school van. (all child restraints must meet federal motor vehicle safety standards)
  • All safety seats must be provided by the parents/guardian and must remain on the van at all times
  • Any child riding on the van will wear a seat belt for safety. No child shall ride on the floor of the vehicle
  • Children are never left in a vehicle unattended by an adult
  • Children are loaded/unloaded from curbside or in a safe, off-street area, out of the flow of traffic, so that they are protected from all traffic hazards.
  • In each vehicle Creative Kidz uses for the transport of children, a first-aid kit is available.
  • Staff-to-child ratios are still in effect while children are being transported.
  • Children are counted each time they load and unload from a van or bus. Attendance records are always in the vehicle whenever children are being transported.
  • Emergency information and medical authorization for each child will be in the vehicle in which children will be transported. Every child must have a signed and dated travel form on file.

Our policy on Medication

Creative Kidz Academy does not administer medications.  All medications must be left at home. Any medications found in diaper bags or book bags will be locked in the front office and can be picked up at departure by the parent.  Emergency devices such as inhalers, nebulizers and epipens will be dispensed by the onsite administrator.  Written documentation signed by the parent/guardian and a Doctor must be dated and signed in the front office.

Our policy on Children’s Health

Although medical reports are due upon enrollment, updates on immunizations are necessary throughout the year for younger children.  Please, have your physician record your child’s updated immunizations in writing.  These will then be entered into your child’s file.       Because of the social nature of children, illnesses spread very easily throughout a child care center.  Therefore, it is important that parents keep their sick children at home.  Fever, rashes, and diarrhea are symptoms that have proven to be contagious throughout daycares.  If any of the symptoms appear at the center, we will contact the child’s parent and expect him/her to immediately pick up the child.  A child who is visibly ill will not be admitted into the center.  Parents should prearrange a plan for picking up a sick child with their employer.

If a child is sent home from school with a temperature of 101*F or higher, or has two incidences of diarrhea or vomiting in one day must remain at home for a minimum of 24 hours.

Our policy on SIDS

All full time and part time infant and toddler staff members of Creative Kidz Academy have been properly trained by a health care professional for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.  We promote the Stomach to Play Back to Sleep method for all of our infants under 12 months of age.  We are unable for any reason to nap a child on there stomach.

Our policy on Immunization

Medical reports are always required for enrollment and updates on immunizations are necessary throughout the year for younger children. Because of the social nature of children, illnesses spread very easily throughout a child care center.  Therefore, we must stress that parents keep their sick child/ren at home.

Clothing, Diapers and Toys

All children should have a complete set of clothing left at the center. Children who are potty training should have several pairs of training pants daily. All clothing must be labeled. Toys should not be brought into the center from home except on “Show and Tell” day. “Warm Fuzzies” for naptime are encouraged, but they must remain in the cubbies until naptime. A small light blanket for naptime may be brought from home. All items brought from home must be clearly labeled with the child’s name. We are not responsible for lost items. Infants should have their own supply of disposable diapers and wipes and should replenish them as needed. We do not have extra diapers or wipes so please check your child’s supply on a daily basis. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Our policy on Authorized Child Pick-Up

To ensure the safety of your child/ren, we require the parent/legal guardian to give written permission for any individual picking up their child/ren that is not listed on our Authorized Pick-Up sheets. We will not release any child after to an adult without the proper forms of identification.
